3 Things We Learned: Airbus UK Broughton 2-0 Buckley Town. JD Cymru North.

Airbus UK Broughton continued their winning ways on Saturday, with a 2-0 victory in the Flintshire derby over local rivals Buckley Town, making it three victories in a row, having not conceded a goal in that time.

Here are three things we learned...

  1. ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK

Following Saturday's 2-0 victory, Airbus have now scored 72 goals in the JD Cymru North, 19 more than any other side.

Twenty nine of these have come from Adam Davies, whose record breaking season has helped project Airbus to the status of favourites for the title.

However, he has, as everyone does, had some dry spells this season, and only scored in one of The Wingmaker's last four matches, even thought the side have scored nine goals in that time.

The responsibility of scoring and creating chances, in this time, has fallen to the other attackers in Airbus' eleven, namely Jake Eyre and Ryan Edwards.

During this time, Eyre has scored in three consecutive matches for the first time this season, and is coming into form at the perfect time.

Edwards' creative side is coming to fruition, creating the second goal against Buckley and has caused havoc for opposition right backs for a number of weeks now, attacking down the left hand side, putting dangerous crosses into the box.

Although Davies has struggled to get his 30th goal of the season, the attackers around him are doing more than enough to keep the standards high at the club and keep the title expectations alive.

2. SUPER DUTTON

It was last time out against Colwyn Bay that Lewis Dutton kept consecutive clean sheets for just the second time this season, and he was rightly praised for doing so.

However, a week on and he has out done himself again.

The Welsh shot stopper has now kept three clean sheets in a row, a personal best for this season, and it is fair to say that his best form has come during this time.

In the most recent match against Buckley, he denied the opposition superbly on a number of occasions, most notably when tipping a looping ball over his far post, and saving a free-kick down low.

The way he commands his box, and a new found level of confidence has already put Dutton in with a huge chance of being the player of the month for both Airbus and the JD Cymru North.

3. SIX TO GO

There are now six remaining fixtures for Airbus UK Broughton this season, with bottom placed Llanrhaeadr being the first, who they face on Saturday 19th March.

With the games that remain, if Airbus win their game in hand and also beat second placed Llandudno, they will need to obtain just four more points in order to win the title.

Avoiding dropping eight points in four of their matches should be no issue for airbus, given that they have dropped just seven points in their previous 22 games this season.

The road to the title is now more visible than ever.
