3 Things We Learned: Colwyn Bay 0-3 Airbus UK Broughton. JD Cymru North.

Airbus UK Broughton traveled East on Saturday and beat fourth placed Colwyn Bay 3-0, in the JD Cymru North, maintaining their three point lead at the top of the table, having played a game less than second place Llandudno.

Here are three things we learned...

  1. PERFECT 10 FOR JAKE EYRE

Following his brace on Saturday afternoon, Jake Eyre is now on 10 goals in all competitions so far this season, and could be on course for his best ever season tally of 15.

He has been in scintillating form as of late, and has contributed with six goal involvements in his last six games, scoring five and assisting one.

An attacker that is able to play anywhere across the front line, Eyre will be a crucial, versatile cog in the machine of Steve O'Shaughnessy in the remaining seven games of the season.

2. GENEROUS ADAM DAVIES

When Gaz Edwards was brought down inside the box in the nineteenth minute, all eyes went to one man.

It was not Jake Eyre, who eventually scored the penalty, that the crowd looked to.

It was 29 goal Adam Davies who everyone expected to take the ball to the spot, to make it a record breaking 30 for the season.

Davies is a natural, instinctive striker, who loves scoring goals, and has done so with ease so far this campaign, so would have loved to take the penalty kick.

However, showing his solidarity with his teammates, and an unselfish attitude, did not make a fuss of handing the ball over to Eyre, who expertly put the ball away.

Davies missed from the spot against Llandudno earlier in the season, so could have been forgiven for wanting to exorcise any demons that may be lingering over him, but he remained confident in his teammate to score from the spot.

3. LEWIS DUTTON ON FORM

Lewis Dutton kept another clean-sheet at the weekend, making it consecutive shutouts for just the second time this campaign, the first coming back in September.

Although clean sheets have not been easy to come by for Dutts, he has impressed in his fifteen league appearances so far this season, leading The Wingmakers to having the second best defensive record in the league, behind only second placed Llandudno.

He has made crucial saves throughout the season, that have helped swing the balance of games in Airbus' favour, earning points sometimes on his own.

His close range save from a glancing header in the first half on Saturday stopped Colwyn Bay getting a goal back, and stopped them starting a comeback, making him one of the crucial players in O'Shaughnessy's side.
