Airbus UK Broughton 4-2 Gresford Athletic: Player Ratings

Airbus UK Broughton have beaten Gresford Athletic 4-2 on the day that the hosts lifted the JD Cymru North division title, in an end to-end-match that entertained both sets of fans.

Here are the match ratings for the Airbus players...

Lewis Dutton- 6

One of his poorer game in recent months, Lewis Dutton will admit himself that he was at fault for the second Gresford goal, fumbling the ball into his net.

However, a few tidy saves prior to this showed glimpses of his class.

Simon Spender- 7

A typical Simon Spender performance- solid, calm, assured.

He slowed the game down when it was needed, dictated the play well and provided a few nice balls in behind for Nathan Brown to run onto.

The veteran has been putting in performances like this all season.

Steve Tomassen- 7

The captain lead by example at the back, a couple of mistakes let the opposition in behind, but he was quick enough to recover and make amends.

Scored a nice header thanks to an inch perfect cross from Nathan Brown.

Gaz Edwards- 6

A similar performance to Tomassen, solid without pulling up any trees, typical of the Airbus centre half partnership this season.

Owen Payne- 7

The youngster provided energy and speed on the right hand side, his natural fitness allowing him to get forward and back with ease, putting in a number of tempting crosses for Oli Lanceley.

Ryan Edwards- 8

Edwards' direct running style caused issues for the Gresford backline all game and was unlucky not to score a goal or two.

Beau Cornish- 7

Always active in the middle of the park, Cornish used his power and speed to his advantage, whilst spraying the ball across the park in a way that only he can.

Joe Palmer- 5

A quiet game for Joe Palmer where he struggled to make an impact and was often bypassed in the midfield.

Nathan Brown- 10, Man of the Match

His best game in an Airbus shirt.

Brown dominate his fullback the entire match, turning him inside out on multiple occasions, providing three assists and scoring a goal.

Could be a huge part of Steve O'Shaughnessy's side now that he is back from injury.

George Peers- 8

Scored inside six minutes and had a number of impressive dribbles that almost ended in goals.

Did well to fill the huge hole left by Adam Davies.

Oli Lanceley- 7

One of the hardest workers on the team and always puts the side's needs ahead of his own.

Did well to score yet again and has really stepped up in recent weeks, emerging from the shadow of Adam Davies.
