After picking up a point against lower end of the table Penrhyncoch, experienced centre-half Gareth Edwards admits his team would have liked to have bounced back quicker after an underwhelming result in Mid-Wales.

A tough 1-1 draw away at the Roosters was acknowledged by Edwards as a disappointing point which shows the attitude of champion contenders.

He said; “You always want the games to come quick and fast, especially after a poor result which was disappointing.

“We dominated most of the game and got caught with a sucker punch and dragged ourselves back in, we just couldn’t get that winning goal which was hard to take but it just goes to show with the league on how tight it can be.”

The Wingmakers have just lost one game at home this season which came in a 4-1 loss against now defunct Bangor City on the 31st of July.

This has led to a lot of Airbus’ success coming at The Hollingsworth Group Stadium and that stat is something which the former Caernarfon defender recognises.

“We are a tough team to beat only being beaten here once this season in the league. It’s our mini fortress as such, we want to keep it that way.

“The absolute goal at the end of the day is three points, it doesn’t matter how we play on Saturday we need those three points and get that momentum back that we have kind of lost.”

Although Bus are three points ahead of Llandudno in the JD Cymru North table with a game in hand, the league leaders form has slip in the new year with just one win in three.

Edwards accepts this and knows that the fixture schedule in recent weeks has meant that any form picked up has been difficult to keep.

A consistent run of matches coming into the last couple of months in the season means a good run of games could see the title within a grasp quickly.

“When you are not playing week in week out and the league starts and stops you do lose that bit of momentum, we certainly felt that since the new year.

“We have just got to get back to winning ways, the games will come thick and fast towards the end of the season now.

“There is not long left, and we have got to keep pushing on.

“There is going to be twist and turns, as always in title races, they are never easily won, and it is always a graft.

“When you look like you are going to pull away you get back dragged in and I have been in enough title winning teams and pushing for leagues to know it is rarely easy.

“There is always someone on your tail and there is always someone chasing you.

“We have just got to start kicking on and finding that form again.”
