One Step Closer
In what was a potential banana skin, Airbus UK Broughton got the job done once more on the north Wales coast.
The 2-0 victory over Prestatyn Town at Bastion Gardens edged the Wingmakers ever so nearer to getting back up to the JD Cymru Premier after a two-season absence.
After a goalless first fourty-five, Airbus showed why they are top of the league by netting two in the second-half to collect another crucial three points.
Oliver Lanceley
The tall no.9 stepped up brilliantly in the absence of Jake Eyre.
Lanceley held the ball up well and when a Cornish cross found the forward towards the start of the second forty-five, he was there to head home and help Bus on their way.
The 20-year-old is an academy product of the club, with those that helped him on his journey should be proud of.
Adam Davies
The prolific striker bagged his 30th goal of the league season and get Bus’s second of the match on Saturday.
Davies scored a Peers pass in to the box as the no.10 then scored past Richard Cowderoy’s bottom-left.
The former Aberystwyth Town player has been a vital part of Steve O’Shaughnessy’s team and will be one of the main reasons if the Cymru North leaders win the title and get promoted.
A Clean Sheet
It was an eighth clean sheet of the league campaign for Lewis Dutton and the defence.
To keep the other side goalless is a vital part of winning any football match and every defender in the Bus’s team deserve the same credit as the one’s that have netted the goals this season.
Friday’s showdown
The victory on Saturday means the title could be won in the game.
On Friday night (April 1), the season could wrap up any trophy challenge at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium, if the Wingmakers can get the three points against Llandudno.
The gap would stand at eight with Sean Eardley’s only having two matches left to play.
A victory under the lights would a deserved one as the Seasiders have been the best of the rest in the Cymru North.
