GUILSFIELD VS AIRBUS UK BROUGHTON: JD CYMRU NORTH PREVIEW

Following only their second defeat of the season, a 3-2 loss away to Holywell Town, Airbus UK Broughton travel to third placed Guilsfield on Saturday, in the final game of their title winning campaign.

Guilsfield appeared to be strong contenders for the title at the beginning of the campaign, yet their form after the winter break has cost them and nine draws in their 27 matches leaves them with nothing to play for going into the final round of fixtures, meaning both sides will likely play without pressure, leading to an enjoyable match of football.

Steve O'Shaughnessy's men struggled last time out against Holywell, but having lifted the title three days earlier, it is somewhat understandable for the slight drop in form and the potential that they slightly took their 'eye off the ball'.

The boss will be expecting a reaction from his side against Guilsfield and will be looking to end such a successful season on a high note.

Even with the absence of Adam Davies, Airbus have impressed with their attacking prowess in recent games.

Since the leg break of the striker, The Wingmakers have scored seven goals in their last two matches, showing that, although Adam deserves a lot of praise for netting 30 times this season, there are other players who can, and will, step up to the plate for the side.

The match against Holywell Town was the first time that Airbus have conceded three times in one match all season and with their impressive defensive record that is only beaten by Llandudno, Lewis Dutton and his back-line should be back to their best for the away clash on Saturday.

Should The Wingmakers keep a clean sheet against Guilsfield, they will finish the season having conceded just 23 goals in 28 matches this campaign, showing that no matter how good your attack is, a strong, steady defence really does help to win titles.

Guilsfield

Saturday's opponents enter the clash in decent form, having won three of their last five matches, drawing one and losing one in that time.

They have scored 51 goals so far this campaign, which is the joint lowest of the top six sides in the JD Cymru North division.

They have the joint fourth best defensive record in the league, and only Airbus have lost less matches (2) than Guilsfield so far this season (4), showing that they will be a tough side to break down and beat for Steve O'Shaughnessy's side.
