Jake Eyre: Winning is all that matters! Colwyn Bay 0-3 Airbus UK Broughton. JD Cymru North

Following his brace against Colwyn Bay at the weekend, Airbus winger Jake Eyre insisted that winning is the most important thing at this stage of the season, but conceded that he was disappointed to be substituted off whilst on a hat-trick.

On the win, Eyre said "it was a good professional performance, they are a good side. We spoke about them before the game, they're playing well and I think we scored at a good time today because they had good spells as well".

When asked about his two goals against The Seagulls, he explained how he was "made up", and that "normally it's Adam [Davies] getting all the goals" so it was "nice to get a couple".

On the manager's decision to substitute him off when on a hat-trick, he said "I am always disappointed to come off".

"To be fair, we were all tiring so I think that it was the right decision"he added.

On his targets between now and the end of the season, the Chester-born 26 year old said "I've hit double figures now, but to be honest, the most important thing is to win. We've got seven or eight league games left, but if I can chip in with a few more, that'll be nice".

Looking ahead to the visit of seventh placed Buckley Town next weekend, he explained "I'm looking forward to it, it'll be just as tough as today; they're really compact and every time we've played them it's been a tough game".

Ayre's Man of The Match performance, and recent goalscoring form, has come at the perfect time for The Wingmakers, as they look to continue their impressive run of form that has seen them lose just one league game all season.

The win away to Colwyn Bay leaves Steve O'Shaughnessy's Airbus three points clear of Llandudno at the top of the JD Cymru North division, with a game in hand, putting them firmly in the driving seat for this season's title.
