Lewis Dutton :"Over the moon, it's been a long time coming", lifting the title and win over Gresford

Following their 4-2 victory over Gresford Athletic, Airbus UK Broughton were finally allowed to lift the JD Cymru North title, two weeks after winning the crown.

Following yet another win, Wingmakers goalkeeper Lewis Dutton could not hold back his excitement o finally getting his hands on the silverware.

On lifting the trophy, the shot stopper said "I'm over the moon, its been a long time coming, we've been putting the performances in week in, week out, so I think we deserve it".

When asked about which game he thinks turned the tide in the title race and helped them most on their way to lifting the trophy, he explained "Colwyn Bay. I think that was a really dominant performance and from then on we saw it out in the last few games by dominating them aswell".

"A big one was obviously against Llandudno, a massive three points that obviously won us the title, honestly that was such a really really good feeling".

Reflecting on the win against Gresford, the Airbus 'keeper admitted "it can be difficult to get motivated when you've already won the league" but affirms "I think we did really really well".

On his side's performance, he said "first half, we moved the ball really well, and the same in the second half, it was just about keeping that concentration.

Critical of his own performance, he conceded "I was disappointed to let in those two goals" but insists "I've got to move on from that now, go again Monday (against Holywell) and get a result there".

When asked on his goals for next season, he demands that "the biggest goal for the club is staying up. I think we're good enough to do it. The players we've got now are great, it's one of my favourite clubs to have been involved in, so if we can keep all the lads we've got now, I think we will do well next season".

The Wingmakers next play on bank holiday Monday, 18th April, in their penultimate game of the 2021-22 JD Cymru North season, when they travel to Holywell Town.
