The New Saints 3-0 Airbus UK Broughton: A good test at Park Hall for Airbus

Airbus suffered a 3-0 loss against the Cymru Premier leaders The New Saints at Park Hall Stadium.

A Jake Canavan second-half brace and a goal in the first-forty five from Leo Smith gave the Oswestry-based side the victory.



At the start of the match, there was as minute’s silence for Terry Marchant who was a match day steward for The New Saints.

In the sixth minute, former Saints player Simon Spender ran in the box and had a shot only to be denied by a good save from Connor Roberts.

Five on, Jordan Williams got a cross for TNS from the left. Williams hit the ball, but it went wide.

In the 14th, Jake Canavan passes the ball into Adrian Cieslewicz who shot straight at Lewis Dutton as the keeper palmed the ball away.

Seven later, Williams had a shot from outside the 18-yard area which went wide of Roberts’ left side of the post.

In the 25th minute, Leo Smith had an effort from outside the penalty that hit Spender and deflected wide as TNS kept knocking.

A minute on, an over-the-top ball found Ash Baker, however the right-back hit a shot in the box staright at Dutton who collected comfortably.

Just before the half hour mark, Ben Clark crossed the ball to Williams in the box who headed wide of Dutton’s right.

In the 31st minute, Williams had an attempt from 25-yards out which went all the way over the Airbus crossbar.

In the 36th, Cieslewicz had a shot in the box which Dutton stopped to his bottom-right.

Three later, Cieslewicz put in a corner that found Clark in the penalty area who headed wide of the post.

On the verge of half-time TNS took the lead, Smith found himself with the ball from 6-yards out and scored right in the middle of the goal.

At the start of the second forty-five, Cieslewicz passed the ball across the box to Williams who shot over the crossbar.

In the 51st, Billy Kirkham passed the ball into Williams who had a shot that was blocked on the line Steve Tomassen.

Two minutes on, the 13-time Cymru Premier champions doubled their lead. Academy graduate, Jake Canavan hit the ball in the box and netted into the top-left corner of the Airbus goal.

In the 69th, Clark played in Cieslewicz who shot straight at Dutton who saved. Later on in the minute Canavan netted in the top-right corner to get a brace and make it 3-0 to Anthony Limbrick's team.

In the 73rd, Smith had an opportunity in the box which was hit out of the ground.

With just five minutes to George Peers had a shot from 20-yards out that forced Roberts into a fine save.

In the 86th, Nathan Brown had an attempt from 25-yards out which went over the crossbar.

A minute on, up the other end of the pitch Rhys Edwards find himself up the other end of the pitch but missed the target in the box.
