Airbus UK Broughton Lift The JD Cymru North Title

Two weeks after winning the league, Airbus UK Broughton have finally been able to lift the title, following their 4-2 victory over Gresford Athletic on Friday night.

The Wingmakers have been the standout team in the division this season, and deserve every plaudit they get, having blown away the opposition, having a healthy lead by the mid-season break.

Goalkeeper and, ever present, this season Lewis Dutton, spoke to The Wingmakers Writer following the win, expressing his delight to finally get his hands on the trophy...

After a long, grueling season, it is good to see so many happy faces at The Holingsworth Group season, and none more so than that of Adam Davies.

Of course, Davies picked up a horrific leg break in the title winning fixture against Llandudno, but it was a refreshing and reassuring sight to see him smiling and celebrating with the players following the Gresford match.

Adam Davies collects his winner's medal and no one deserves it more than him.

Davies' 30 goals this season have contributed massively to the success of Airbus, and without him, they would likely be nowhere near the top spot in the division.

The Wingmakers dressing room of players and staff showed their appreciation for the big forward after the title winning match, his name being sang across the entire stadium.

After an end-to-end 90 minutes of football, Airbus could finally lift the title, 265 days after they began their season, a 1-0 home victory over Holyhead Hotspur on 24th July 2021. For context, this was just 13 days after the Euro 2020 final, showing the marathon season that The Wingmakers have been through in order to win the league.

Steve O'Shaughnessy's side will now move into the JD Cymru Premier, with the main focus of the club seemingly being to survive a relegation battle next season, before slowly moving up the table as the years pass.

Everyone at The Wingmakers Writer would like to congratulate Steve, Mark, all of the staff and players on their successful campaign.
