Elliott Orton awarded The Wingmakers Writer Player of the Month for November

Elliott Orton has had an impressive 4-weeks of action for the Bus and his fine form has stood out so much so that he takes home this months Player of the Month award from the site.

The 18-year-old has featured in every one of Airbus' games this month and was part of a defensive unit that kept two clean sheets against Llandudno FC and Llangefni Town FC.

Earlier this month, the teenager signed a new contract at the club that would see him extend is stay until at least the end of the 2022/23 season.

The academy graduate initially showcased his talents during his time training with the first team squad. It was then when boss Steve O'Shaughnessy took note of the emerging talent who he believed would be able to offer stiff competition to Owen Payne at left-back.

Success stories such as Orton and fellow graduate Arun Edwards provides the current crop of academy players proof that hard work, talent, and dedication will be rewarded.

Orton has faced tricky wingers during his 13 league appearances in the first team fold but on every occasion, he has proved to be a stern defensive full-back with an eye for a penetrating pass to break the opposition’s back line.

Although he is yet to provide an assist this term, Orton appears to find himself in the position where it is his initial ball that results in goals for the Bus.

As well as taking home The Wingmakers Writer’s POTM award, Orton has also received the award from the club’s official twitter vote. It appears not just us have been impressed with his ability over the last couple of games.

It is very telling of the 18-year-olds ability that a team featuring the likes of Simon Spender, Adam Davies and Ryan Edwards sees the graduate take home both performance awards for the month.

The Airbus boss will be hoping Orton and Payne can continue to push each other for the left back spot and help the Wingmakers achieve their goal of Cymru North gold come late April.
