Three points

It was a big three points at home against Llanidloes Town on Saturday. After dropping points at Penrhyncoch a couple of weeks ago it was good to get back on track. The win on Saturday keeps up a great home record with the only non-victories at Hollingsworth Group Stadium coming in a 4-1 loss against a now defunct Bangor City and 2-2 draw with Guilsfield in November.

Adam Davies Goals

The league’s top scorer added another two to his collection on the weekend. Number 28 and 29 were well taken goals where Davies dribbled in and out of the Daffodils defence and slotted past the away side’s goalkeeper Lee Evans. The JD Cymru North golden boot stands with Davies currently on a ten-goal lead over Colwyn Bay’s James Kirby.

A Clean Sheet

The clean sheet against Chris Davies’ side was the first for Airbus and Lewis Dutton since Llangefni Town (26th November). Former TNS man Dutton had to make a couple of stops from Luke Boundford in particular but earned his worth. The aim will be to keep a few more clean sheets to the end of the season to help see the Wingmakers over the line.

Jake Eyre

As well as Davies, the other striker for Steve O’Shaughnessy’s team got in on the score sheet by netting from close range. It was Eyre’s seventh on the league campaign and I am sure will not be his last before the end of the season.

Still At The Top

The Wingmakers remain three points clear at the top with a game in hand. With just eight matches left for the league leaders, the title and promotion to the Premier is very much in Airbus’ control. A tough match awaits at this weekend with the Bus travelling to Llanelian Road to take on an inform Colwyn Bay under new head coach Steve Evans. However, a victory up on the north Wales coast would certainly help the ambitions of everyone involved with Airbus.
