“They made it difficult for us” - O'Shaughnessy's reaction after Airbus hit Llanidloes for three

In-form front man Adam Davies inspired the Bus to another home win with Jake Eyre grabbing a goal of his own past the hour mark to wrap up proceedings and secure the 3-0 win.

Despite the score line reading a convincing victory, Airbus boss Steve O'Shaughnessy was quick to note how tough a test it was for his side.

“They sat back in and made it difficult for us. I thought defensively their shape was really sound and it proved a difficult task for us to break them down.

“In the end, the quality of Adam (Davies) showed in opening the scoring, but it could have easily been a frustrating afternoon for us,” said O'Shaughnessy.

The Wingmakers’ boss was full of praise for his 28-goal-netting striker after another superb individual display at The Airfield.

“Adam has been fantastic for us this season and it’s great to have a player of his quality in the side.

“He’s took his goals well again today. He was after his hat-trick and could have had it, but the ball didn’t quite bounce for him in the end.

“He works hard and deserves everything he gets,” he noted.

That same work ethic was mirrored by his team mates this afternoon as the Bus got over the line by not just showcasing their ability but also their mental strength.

“I thought all the lads worked extremely hard on and off the ball which was great to see. It is all we can ask for. They are a great bunch who all get on really well.”

Airbus usually deploys over-lapping full backs but this time out, with the absence of Simon Spender in the Bus’ XI, Ieuan Hewitt adopted an inverted position throughout the game which proved to be a thorn in the Llanidloes plan.

“If Simon Spender was playing, we try and get our full-backs more involved higher up the pitch. Spends (Simon Spender) got injured the other day so Ieuan came in today and done well.

“Ieuan is a great crosser of the ball and it’s more down to his own game intelligence that he picked up those positions on the right.

“He has had a tough time of it with injuries, so it was great to see him out there. He had a little knock on his foot, but it was fine, nothing too serious. He will be back next week,” expressed O'Shaughnessy.
