AIRBUS UK BROUGHTON: WINGMAKERS WRITER'S PLAYER OF THE SEASON

After a successful season that saw Steve O'Shaughnessy's side canter to the JD Cymru North title. a case could be made for a dozen players to be in with a chance of being named the Wingmakers Writer's player of the season.

However, after much deliberation, we have cut the list down to three players- two honourable mentions and a winner.

Honourable Mention #1: Lewis Dutton

The Airbus number 13 solidified his spot as first choice this season, and there is no doubt that he will be in between the sticks again when The Wingmakers are playing in the Cymru Premier division.

Dutton had a strong start to the campaign, yet only kept a handful of clean-sheets by the midpoint in the season.

However, his form after the Christmas break was nothing short of sensational.

Three clean sheets in a row against Llanidloes, Colwyn Bay and Buckley town showed everyone exactly what Lewis is capable of.

On top of that, his stellar performance in the title winning match against Llandudno embodied exactly the type of player he is- commanding, confident, cool and collected.

At the age of just 20, Dutton has a very bright future in football, and at Airbus UK Broughton.

Honourable Mention #2: Jake Eyre

Similarly to Dutts, Jake Eyre has enjoyed his best football during the second half of the season.

His best patch of form came in March, when he scored five goals in just three games against Colwyn Bay, Buckley and Llanheaedr.

A constant threat across the attacking positions, Eyre caused havoc for opposition defences no matter what side he accommodated, making him one of Airbus' most versatile, reliable and dangerous players

Jake finished the season with an impressive 14 goal involvements in 20 league matches, making him one of the stand-out players in a brilliant 2021/22 campaign.

Player of the season: Adam Davies

"There's only one Adam Davies" rang the dressing room following Airbus' title winning game against Llandudno, in which the forward tragically broke his leg, and it was fortunate for the rest of the league that there is only one Adam Davies, because he alone tormented the opposition all season.

Scoring a league recording breaking 30 goals this season, Davies has undoubtedly been the JD Cymru North player of the season.

With three hat-tricks in as many games in the months of August and September, in the middle of scoring an incredible 17 goals in six matches, Davies has spearheaded the Airbus front-line, and is the single biggest reason for the title win of The Wingmakers.

When he returns from injury, Adam will be back in the top league, where he belongs, and will undoubtedly continue his perfect form, helping his team as much as he has done this season.
