Colwyn Bay vs Airbus UK Broughton. JD CYMRU NORTH PREVIEW

Following their impressive 3-0 dismantling of Llanidloes at home, Airbus UK Broughton now travel East to face coastal side Colwyn Bay on Saturday, knowing that a win will take them one step closer to the JD Cymru North title.

When the two sides faced each other earlier in the season, The Wingmakers came out on top, winning 4-1 at The Airfield back in September.

Since then, Steve O'Shaughnessy's side have gone from strength to strength, now finding themselves three points clear at the top of the table, with a game in hand.

Speaking to The Wingmakers Writer ahead of the match on Saturday, O'Shaughnessy has explained how he expects a "tough game" but insists he is "looking forward" to facing former Welsh international Steve Evans in the opposition dugout.

Following his brace in the 3-0 win last weekend, star striker Adam Davies has now scored 29 goals in the league, smashing the previous division record of 25, and will be hoping, if not expecting, to make it 30 when he visits Llanelian Road on Saturday.

Jake Eyre, who scored The Bus' third goal against Llanidloes, has slowly been asserting himself as one of the first names on the team sheet in recent weeks and months.

He has seven league goals to his name so far this campaign, and is comfortable playing in any of the front three or four attacking positions, making him one of the most versatile members of the squad.

Over the past five matches, he has played on both the left and right wings, as well as occupying a role in the centre of attack against Llanrhaeadr, a match in which he scored and provided an assist.

Should he continue his strong run of form against Colwyn Bay on Saturday, he may gain the status of being 'undroppable' for Steve O'Shaughnessy.

Colwyn Bay

Colwyn Bay, who sit fourth in the JD Cymru North, have seen a steady increase in performances since Steve Evans took over as manager in January, and have only lost one of their seven league games under him, which came last time out against Holywell Town.

Before the Holywell defeat , they won five and drew once, scoring 19 and conceding just three times, showing a marked improvement from the three loses in the seven matches before his appointment.

Then Seagulls play a compact, narrow and energetic system that likes to put pressure on the opposition, forcing them into mistakes.

As a result, the Airbus defenders and midfielders must move the ball quickly to avoid being penned in by their opposition.

The hosts will be desperate to rectify their defeat from last time out, setting up a thrilling clash between two of the division's best, and well supported, teams.
